Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi gyd.
Happy New Year to you all!
Welcome back to the start of another exciting new term at Whitestone Primary School West-Cross. This term our topic is 'Pop-Up'. During this topic there will be a lot of D.T so be prepared to raid your recycling bins. The topic will allow the children to plan and make pop-up cards, they will also make shadow puppet theatres. The focus will be on story writing and in particular fairy-tales.
To kick-start the topic the children decided we would have a Fairy-tale fancy dress day. The children had lots of fun with the J.S.T.F making fairy cakes, making masks and building fairy-tale castles. They even got to watch Peter Pan after a vote which some of the children captured in a graph on Jit5.
As a right respecting school this month we are focusing on:
Article 3: Everyone who works with children should always do what is best for each child.
Article 29: Your right to become the best you can be.
Our Value of the month is Responsibility.
See if you can find our rights respecting schools mascot Bert on our homepage. Bert is combination of a number of insects and animals. He was chosen as he reflects the diverse nature of our school and symbolises the fact it is ok to be different!
