Croeso i Ddosbarth Fox

This term our topic has been 'Let Me Entertain You'. We generated questions and have been answering these questions whilst developing our skills. 

We have explored a variety of musical instruments and found out about the different families of instruments in the orchestra. We investigated how these instruments are played. We looked at the different elements of music and what they mean. We have used Chrome Music Lab to compose digitally. 

We have been finding out more about sculpture. We looked at different sculptures and answered questions about them. We made our own fox sculptures in the outdoors using natural materials. We have looked at Welsh sculptor Luned Rhys Parri and have started to design our own interpretations of her work. 

We have been finding out about different genres of dance. We have carried out dot votes to decide which genres we would like to learn about and perform. We have worked on street dance and contemporary dance and can't wait to start our next genre, Bhangra. 

We have been finding out about persuasive writing and have written persuasive letters and television adverts.

We have been developing our Mathematics and Numeracy skills through activities including rounding, using balances and scales, fractions and shape.

We have been finding out about different materials and their properties. We looked at a variety of materials and sorted them. We thought about why different objects are made from certain materials. We explored in the outdoors and our school building. We thought about 'Why are windows made from glass?' , 'Why are walls made from brick?' 'Why is the yard made from concrete?' plus many other questions.
