Welcome to the Squirrel Class !

We are a mixed age Year 2 and Year 3 class.

Our classroom staff are:

Mr Whitehouse, Mrs Croall and Mrs Dawson.

Our Classroom Routines

Every day - bring our reading book(s) to school

Mondays - spellings set to take home and learn our weekly pattern

Wednesdays - Violin lessons (violins are provided for all the children)

Wednesdays - Welly Wednesdays - we need our wellies and a change of clothes

Wednesdays - Weekly homework due in

Thursdays - P.E. lesson - we need a T-shirt, shorts/joggers/leggings, trainers

Thursdays - Homework set - weekly numeracy, literacy or topic tasks

Fridays - Spelling test of our weekly spelling patterns

Welsh Language Skills

Sgiliau Iaith Gymraeg

Every day two children are chosen to be Capten Cymraeg and complete our daily Welsh weather board, as well as using their Welsh language skills to send children to play, lunch or to collect bags and coats. 

We also receive 'tocyn iaith' or points, as a class, for using our Welsh language skills in class and these enable us to move our mini Capten Cymraeg mascots up our Tocyn Iaith points chart. Once both mascots reach the top of the chart our class can choose a reward !

Class Dojo

We receive class dojo points for good effort in our work and lessons, for kindness and helpfulness, resilience, teamwork and a whole range of other reasons. This means that we receive instant feedback as our points score will increase instantly and will be  shown on our classroom chart on our interactive whiteboard.

On Fridays we can spend our class dojo points in the Class Dojo Shop and this helps us with financial education, learning about spending and saving.
